Description:
SKAPC re-imagined an existing casual/pizza restaurant into a trendy eatery aligning with nearby upscale West Broadway restaurants. For the project, the firm worked closely with neighborhood restaurateur Vip Manchanda to quickly identify existing assets and introduce new themes. Gran Morsi’s layout was modified to achieve greater visibility from the street by placing street line seats in the foreground, and a large banquette was reformulated to create intimate corner round tables. The design includes a louvered-window treatment that controls sunlight and draws attention to the eatery’s main visual feature – a glass-encased wine storage display resembling a lantern. A black and white scheme in the flooring and walls rejuvenated the bar, back wall and bathrooms.
