Description:
SKAPC redesigned the interiors of a 2,200-square-foot apartment, making perfect use of the original space for a young family without the need for additional square footage. The apartment is situated in a modern, 491-foot tall building within the Trump Place complex on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Work entailed the design of a three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment, including a new kitchen, study, kid’s den and open-plan living room, incorporating a layout and finish pallet to accommodate the family for the next 10+ years. As part of the renovation, the SKAPC team used the original master bedroom to create two children’s bedrooms of equal size as well as an interior lounge. The new master bedroom features two large walk-in closets, including one at the window wall that also serves as a home office. The custom kitchen boasts counters in a unique “U” shaped assembly accentuated by waterfall stone detail, and the island defines the area from the open plan dining and living room spaces. SKAPC’s design of each room takes full advantage of the large-scale windows, maximizing Hudson River views. The firm’s use of clean lines and modern custom millwork enhances the architecture of these interiors making the space contemporary, yet timeless in its design.
