Description:

This unique project focused on the hospital-to-luxury-rental conversion involving a St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center building that formerly served as housing for nurses. Keeping the property’s unique 1920s art deco style, SKAPC’s design work included renovating the existing 96 apartments, creating a combination of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom high-end apartments and penthouses. The overall design for the units was clean and modern with hardwood floors, sunken living rooms and contemporary kitchens with Caesarstone countertops, Scavolini cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances. Layouts maximize spectacular Upper West Side views and allow for ample natural light. Building design improvements also featured the renovation of the lobby, including creating a double-height space, and upgrades to the marquee and entrance, involving the addition of a new canopy. A new fitness center was added, as well.
