Description:

This 24-story ground-up condominium residential building in Chelsea features “garages in the sky,” which were conceived to attract celebrities desiring privacy and safety. Each unit was configured with a private, attached garage, affording residents a secure, paparazzi-free experience as they enter and exit their vehicles. SKAPC was architect of record on the project simultaneously with Selldorf Architects and obtained the first zoning permits for a car garage higher than the City’s 23-foot above the ground floor datum. Luxury apartments boast expansive ceiling heights and large-scale, floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize views of the Hudson River. The exterior pays homage to Chelsea’s industrial past with terra cotta cladding and blackened steel window frames at the building base. In addition, a custom stainless-steel rain screen designed for the structure’s tower is among the distinguishing features of this now iconic building.
